It's All in The Eyes

DSC_0128
Starting the weekend with a little make-up inspo!
Last year, a friend of mine told me that "most people have the most boring make-up, they never het out of their comfort zone". And she was so true! I'm the person that likes to watch people all day, imagine funny stories behind every face and even think about what some are thinking at a certain moment in time. However, I've never noticed how most people have the same, basic make-up. And that's because I'm the same too, I don't really change my make-up a lot, beside the sometimes liquid liner and colourful eye shadows. So I decided to sometimes experiment with my face routine and not only my clothes. A few days ago I chose a very basic outfit for school and just added these blue lashes that I think work really well. I got a lot of compliments and they lasted all day without any issue. DSC_0127 DSC_0124 DSC_0129 DSC_0136 DSC_0131I was wearing:

From Paris With Love

I wasn't planning on posting anything until tomorrow, but as I'm stuck in bed with a nauseating cold I came across this beautiful photo that took me straight to Paris..
The atmosphere is perfect and the looks on Nicole and Luke's faces are priceless, they look so in love and happy, just like any couple would dream of being in the beautiful French capital.
The photo is taken from Nicole Warne's fashion blog, Gary Pepper Vintage . Take a look, it's great!

Yoga

Good Morning!

I've been wanting to get back into the gym for a very long time. However, this video has motivated me and has made me realize you don't really have to go to the gym in order to have a healthy lifestyle. Started on my yoga and fitness schedule today and I'm really excited about it.

Have you guys ever tried Yoga, Pilates of even Kick-Boxing?

P.S. I don't know why the video is so small, but I'll try to solve the problem ASAP!

Plaid, Stripes & Denim

Captre
This is the outfit I wore a few days ago, appropriate for school but also chic enough not to feel underdressed. I hate that each year after I start school my inspiration just disappears and I find myself wearing T-shirts and jeans all day long. Every day I try to add a bit of sizzle to everything I wear and this was the case here, too.

The Over-Sized Coat

Browsing through my usual fashion newsletters an e-mail caught my attention. Moda Operandi's main topic was the over sized coat. Needless to say I knew exactly what my next post would be. I have been searching for the perfect over sized coat for this fall but haven't found it yet within an acceptable price range. However here are some of the coats that caught my eyes this season :
1. the Balenciaga classic which is, obviously, sold out everywhere. 2. Paul & Joe Sister 380 3. For the ones that would like to follow the crowd but still be different an over sized trench from Roksanda Ilincic , €2,030  and finally, 4. Diane von Furstenberg €721 for the wacky side of every girl, a bright pop of yellow. (Does it look resemble popcorn or is it just me?)
And for those of you who want something really different so that you could pretend not to listen to the trends but secretely dream about that over-sized coat here are 1. Kenzo Felted Tweed Jacket and 2. Alberta Ferretti €1,096

Finally, just for my vanity, here is my personal favourite Chalayan over-sized coat. Unfortunately 1,625 for a coat is way out of my budget so I'll keep dreaming about it.

Denim and Prints

DSC_0093

Found these photos that were taken last year and thought I might share them with you, I love the contrast between the fuchsia nails and the grunge denim. I've been practicing with my camera these days trying to make an interesting project called slf-portraits. I'll try to post some photos soon, but only when they're exactly like I want them to be. Meanwhile enjoy these ones!

The Knock-Off Issue

Good Morning! I've been having this idea in my mind since yesterday and it felt only normal to bring to life through a post.

A few years ago, during my holiday in Turkey, I remember being really amazed with the vast collection of Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci and other knock-off's and the idea of buying one.

What is it with us that we often look at the brand but not at the actual product? Would a bag be better because it's Louis Vuitton or Zara? Why do we automatically appreciate brand products better? The quality, yes. But isn't it a sense of pride, too? Owning a Proenza Schouler or a Balenciaga is different than a simple Mango bag, even if the model might be the same.

I must admit I even bought a small knock-off with an idea in mind that one day I might wear it and test people's reaction to it. Would anyone notice? Would I be able to do that?

However, until this day the bag is been sitting in my closet, after one attempt of wearing it that ended with me returning home and leaving it behind.

Apart from buying unnecessary designer items just because of the brand are we capable of faking owning a 300$ bag?

Have any of you been tempted or even bought any knock-off's? Moreover, have you been able to wear them?
This would be my ideal bag wish-list and no matter how long it takes to complete it, I don't think buying knock-off's is worth the real pleasure of wearing the actual designer product.
What do you guys think? Shower me with your ideas: I need a fashion shower.

Wish-List

There comes a time when every blogger has to write a post with excuses on why he didn't post in a very long time. Well that time is finally here. I'm really sorry for being absent lately but my program has been hectic. But, clustered or not, I can always think about new things to wish for and right now I have three items on my immediate must have list.
I first saw the Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Tote in London this summer, in the most beautiful navy colour. Of course, I didn't get myself to buy it but it's been on my mind since. I've been looking for it incessantly but unfortunately I couldn't find it in that colour anywhere online.

The Alexander McQueen classic scarf, you're next!

Marc by Marc Jacobs mouse flats are perfect for this fall, I can't wait to get them:)

Hair Bow and Fluo Tee

DSC_05641

I was never a fan of the Lady GaGa hair bow phenomenon, it was too out there, never could I have pulled that out at school without being called "wacky-girl-with-bow" instead of Maria for the rest of my senior year. However, when I stumbled upon http://dreamshavesecrets.blogspot.com, and saw this post that explained how to do a hair bow there was no doubt I would put my mum I would try that in the morning.
The result is what you can see above, it was really easy to wear and fun to watch people's reaction to my new hair-do. Apart from that and skipping a class in the morning due to being too lazy and waking up late I tried to shoot some photos so please excuse my early morning face.

Inspiration #1

Fall's here, and I think that this picture is perfect for this time of year. Bare back? check. Fur shoulders? check. Peplum? Check. Burgundy? Check. It looks like this gizmo encompasses every trend of the season. And I would sure love to wear it. Credits for this photo are unknown, but, then again, I guess that just makes it more interesting.
